4th of July

We had a pretty fun 4th of July this year.  We headed to the Rupert fireworks the weekend before and then on the 4th we went to the parade in Rupert than came back to our house and had a BBQ with Lex and Ang while the kids playing in sprinklers and swam in their pool.  And of course, when it got dark we had to light off a few fireworks, but a big wind storm came from out of no where and then it started raining so we weren't able to light all of our fireworks that night. 

Growing up the 4th was always the highlight of our summer.  Lewiston 4th of July is pretty fun.  One of my favorite things I remember is that my mom always bought us a new 4th of July shirt so, now I like to buy my kids a 4th of July shirt/outfit.  Jake always thinks it's weird, but I think it's fun.  So below are a few pics of the kids all done up in their new 4th of July Shirt/Outfit!

At the parade the firefighters gave Case a fireman hat.  I think he thought the back of it was like a brim on a baseball hat, so he insisted on wearing it backwards the whole time.

Mud Bath

I was outside weeding the flower bed and the boys were running through the sprinkler.  Hank found a mud hole out by the field in front of our house and kept begging me to let them play in the mud and have a mud fight.  So I finally gave in and they had a blast!!!  Who knew mud could be so much fun!???  They were seriously playing in it forever.  They were completely covered from head to toe.

Hank is quite into posing for pictures lately.  The other day when he started posing for a picture I told him to quit and just smile he was all disgusted and told me  "I'm just trying to look cool like my dad."

Yeah, they even completely laid down and rolled around in it.

I guess it's true that girl's and boy's are soo different even when they are babies.  Halli crawled over to see what they were doing.  She barely stuck her big toe in and didn't want anything else to do with it.  It was so funny right after she stuck it in she got a disgusted look on her face(picture below) and then she started trying to pick the mud off her toes(picture above).

She was much more interested in trying to pick at the flowers the whole night.

Pigtails

Warning! Picture Overload. 

I tried putting pigtails in Halli's hair for the first time the other day.  I still can't get over how BIG it made her look.  It was so cute.  She doesn't really have enough hair for them yet.  She pretty much has a baby mullet.  Her hair is pretty short on top and longer in the back.  So we just put two little piggies coming out the back.  Hank thought it was so funny.  They only lasted about 10 minutes since her hair is not really thick enough to hold in the elastics, but it was so cute.  I can't wait until her hair is actually long enough for pigtails.

On a side note she has 2 teeth now.  One of them just broke through, but the other one is poking up pretty good now.  If you look really close you can see it poking up on the bottom.

Playdough and A Tooth

I made the boys some play dough the other day.  They have loved playing with it.  It has been so nice, playing with it has seriously kept them entertained for hours.  And when I say boys I mean Jake too :)

First Tooth: April 3, 2013

Halli's first tooth cut through yesterday.  It is her bottom, middle, right tooth.  You can't really see it yet, but you can feel it.The poor thing has been pretty miserable.  All of her gums are pretty swollen and I am sure it won't be too long before she gets a few more teeth.  Even though she wasn't feeling the greatest I still got her to kind of smile for a few photos.  She is getting so big, a tooth and she will be 9 months tomorrow.

 

Easter/Spring Pictures & Baskets

We just had our family pictures taken in the fall, but I was looking at them and realized how much the kids have changed already.  I don't think you can ever have enough pictures.  Especially when they are little like my kids and changing all of the time.  So, I decided to try and take some spring/Easter pics of the kids.  It was fun and I think they turned out pretty good.   

Hank is thinking he is getting pretty big.  He didn't want to smile for his pictures.  He was trying to do the tough serious face pose.  He was also mad that I wouldn't let him wear his hat for the pictures.

Case is as happy go lucky and care free as Hank is scared and skittish.

I really can't decide which one is my favorite between these 3 pics of Halli.  I love the different expressions she has in each one.  I can't believe how big she is getting.  She is rolling and scooting every where now.  She just discovered the stairs a few days ago and I have already had to stop her from falling down several times.  The next few months are gonna be torture:)

 

Cheese!

I can never get a good picture of all 3 kids together.  There is always one of them wiggling or not looking or something.  This is the best I could do. 

Easter Baskets

All growing up we had fabric Easter baskets that my mom had made.  So I decided to make some for my kids this year and carry on the tradition.
