SUMMER!

Yeah! Summer is finally here! It is so nice to be able to spend some time outside. We were even able to go swimming the other day. It was so much fun.

Then that night we decided to have a camp out in our shed. We set up the air mattress and brought Hank and Case's beds out. Jake even brought the TV out so we could watch a movie.



Hank thought it was the coolest adventure ever.

Chicken Catchers

Hank's cousin, Tre, came over to play yesterday. They spent pretty much the whole day chasing and catching our chickens. In the morning they could only catch the little chickens, but by the afternoon they'd had enough practice so they were able to catch the bigger faster chickens. They thought it was pretty fun. They even set up a pen with some food in it to try and trap one. They were pretty excited when it actually worked. Who knew a few chickens could be so entertaining. I don't think the chickens thought it was to much fun though. Later in the evening we went to check on them and one of them was "sleeping" as Hank says. I think it had a little to much fun for one chicken lifetime.

Cowboy

Friday night we went up by the Sublet reservoir with some of my family for a cookout and horse ride. I couldn't believe it, after years of refusing, Jake actually rode a horse!!! And even crazier, he liked it!

Ever since then he keeps saying he wants to get a horse now.
So who knows he might turn into a cowboy after all.

Father's Day

My father didn't tell me how to live, he lived, and let me watch him do it.

I just want to say Happy Father's Day to:

Jake, for being such an amazing father to our boys. I am so thankful that my boys have such a good dad to look up to.

And to:

My dad, for being a great dad to me and now a great grandpa to my kids.

Also, Happy Father's Day to my brothers, brother-in-laws, grandpas, father-in-law, and all of the other great dads out there.

Sunday Best!

A few Sunday's ago we were about to leave for church I looked at the boys and realized they were clean! No food on their faces, no stains on their clothes, both of them had their hair combed, I knew I had to get a picture! It is so hard to keep little boys clean. Case is in the stage where he likes to feed himself, but I think he gets more on his face, hands, clothes, hair and floor than he gets in his mouth. And Hank well I guess he is just a little boy. He loves to be outside playing in the dirt. And for some reason he always comes in smelling like a little puppy dog.

Wake Up Call

It was time for Hank to wake up from his nap. So we decided to let Case help wake him up. Case thought it was pretty funny.

Hank didn't think it was such a great idea.

Into the Wild

This last week we released our ducks into the wild. OK so its not really too wild. We just let them go in the canal behind our house. They loved it. As soon as we put them in they just started swimming and playing in the water, you can definitely tell they are meant to be in the water. I am glad they have stayed close to our house. It is so fun to see them back there. Now every time we go for walks/bike rides we have to look for the ducks so Hank can get out and see them. He loves the ducks. He always tells them "Come on duckies!"
