Hey everyone I decided to start another blog. It is going to be a recipe/cooking/baking blog. I just got it started so there isn't too much there, but you can go check it out anyways. And keep checking back cause I will hopefully be adding more to it on a regular basis. I know this is kinda crazy, but I love to try new recipes so I decided this would be a good place to keep track of them. Hopefully you will enjoy some of them too. Let me know what you think.

Smith Family Reunion

This last weekend was the Smith family reunion. We started out at Steadman's water slides. They were way fun. Except of course we had to have at least one accident at the reunion. Well this year it happened almost before it even got started. Right after we got there a bunch of us were going down together and Gini and Cody crashed into each other. They hit hard enough that they both had huge cuts on their heads. Cody had to get his super glued but Gini's was worse so she had to head to the hospital and get stitches. Thankfully the rest of the reunion went pretty much accident free.

This is Me, Jake, Hank, and Case coming down the slide.

Luke and Gini were in charge of the reunion this year. They had matching shirts made for everyone. My dad refuses to wear a t-shirt so they made him a western but it was too small. He wouldn't even put his t-shirt on for a picture.

Hank loved the reunion. He just loves to be doing something. Especially with other kids and cousins.

4th of July

We had such a fun 4th of July weekend this year. It all started on Thursday with the Rupert fireworks. Then Friday we had a BBQ with Jake's family in Wendell. Saturday we went to the Malta 4th of July celebration. And on Monday the actual 4th we went to the Rupert parade, then we headed to Luke and Gini's where we went fishing, swimming, canoeing, and had a BBQ and fireworks. It was a very busy weekend with lots of family, food and fun!!!

So I know this is a major picture overload, but I wanted to get it all in.

Yep, this is us watchin' the fireworks from inside the truck. Because after listening to Hank scream that he "Needed" to "Get in the truck" or "Go home" for the entire firework show in Rupert we decided to let him sit in the truck during the Malta fireworks. I can't believe how scared of them he was. Oh well at least he liked watching them inside the truck.

We went to the Rupert parade with Alisha, Becki and their kids. Hank loved the popsicles and candy they threw out at the parade.

We went to Thousand springs to go swimming, fishing, and canoeing. I think Hank's favorite part of the day was riding in the "boat."

Case just kept trying to eat the rocks the whole time.

All of the moms stayed to watch the kids swim. While all of the guys went off fishing. They were all proud when they came back with quite a few big fish.

I guess I better tell the truth even though Jake would like me to tell a "Big Fish Story" This was one of the fish they had caught earlier, but Jake wanted me to take some pictures of him pretending to catch it out of the water with his bare hands. It was pretty funny. They actually turned out pretty good.


See I told you it was a major picture overload. Oh well. We really did have a really fun weekend. It was great to be able to spend it with lots of family.

Reddi Whip

The other night Jake let Case have some Reddi Whip. He Loved it. Jake started squirting it on Case's face and head and he would just grab it and put it in his mouth. It was pretty funny. Good thing I was about to put him in the bath anyways.

SUMMER!

Yeah! Summer is finally here! It is so nice to be able to spend some time outside. We were even able to go swimming the other day. It was so much fun.

Then that night we decided to have a camp out in our shed. We set up the air mattress and brought Hank and Case's beds out. Jake even brought the TV out so we could watch a movie.



Hank thought it was the coolest adventure ever.

Chicken Catchers

Hank's cousin, Tre, came over to play yesterday. They spent pretty much the whole day chasing and catching our chickens. In the morning they could only catch the little chickens, but by the afternoon they'd had enough practice so they were able to catch the bigger faster chickens. They thought it was pretty fun. They even set up a pen with some food in it to try and trap one. They were pretty excited when it actually worked. Who knew a few chickens could be so entertaining. I don't think the chickens thought it was to much fun though. Later in the evening we went to check on them and one of them was "sleeping" as Hank says. I think it had a little to much fun for one chicken lifetime.

Hank had such a fun day. Thanks for coming to play Tre.

Cowboy

Friday night we went up by the Sublet reservoir with some of my family for a cookout and horse ride. I couldn't believe it, after years of refusing, Jake actually rode a horse!!! And even crazier, he liked it!

Ever since then he keeps saying he wants to get a horse now.
So who knows he might turn into a cowboy after all.
